Penguin Palace Challenge #21 – Interactive

Hello and Happy New Year! We hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday season and your 2023 is off to a great start!

We LOVED seeing your holiday moodboard inspired projects over the past month and want to thank you so much for participating in Challenge #20. Unfortunately, we didn’t have quite enough participants to declare a winner, but we really want to thank you so much for participating in Challenges #19 & 20.

Now, onto the 21st Penguin Palace Challenge! I’m so excited to be sharing inspiration using products from the latest release to showcase this month’s interactive challenge theme! Interactive projects can include anything from shaker cards, pull-tabs, pop-ups, and everything in between — we love seeing your creativity and different takes on our challenge themes! Don’t forget to link your projects featuring Penguin Palace stamps below for your chance to win a $25 gift card!

I LOVE shakers and as I’m thinking ahead to Valentine’s Day, I decided to use the Mason Jars and Mittens Shaker Tags die to make some fun tags. I used two of the mason jar dies (the base, and the outline with the heart) and cut each from 3 colors of Heavyweight Premium Cardstock: white, Fashion Week, and Cotton Candy.

I added acetate to the back of the outline die-cuts and placed foam tape around the edges to create a well for my sequins. I filled each shaker well and adhered them to the mason jar base die-cuts, mixing and matching the colored outlines and bases. I decided to leave these sentiment-less — but you could certainly add a sentiment to the front or the back of the tag!

We love seeing your creations and would love for you to join us in this month’s challenge! All you have to do to enter is use the challenge theme (interactive) to create a project that features at least one Penguin Palace product as the focal point. Full challenge rules can be found here.

This month’s challenge runs until January 30th at 11:59 PDT. We’ll select a winner to receive a $25 CAD gift certificate to ppstamps.com from challenge #21 and #22 which will be announced on March 1st at the beginning of challenge #23!

Penguin Palace Challenge #20 – Holiday Moodboard

Hello and welcome back crafty friends!

And welcome to our 20th Penguin Palace Challenge! This challenge is extra special because I’m showcasing one of the new stencils from our 4th Anniversary release!

Everything is so so cute – you don’t want to miss it! You can view (& pre-order) the new release here!

This month we have a rich, holiday-inspired colour palette! Don’t forget to link your projects featuring Penguin Palace stamps below for your chance to win a $25 gift card!

I couldn’t resist using the new Poinsettia Wreath Stencils 360°™ for this challenge. I used some red, green, and brown dye inks inspired by the challenge colors to blend through the stencil. With only 8 turns of the stencil (at 45 degrees) I had this beautiful wreath!

I cut down my ink blended piece to fit on a 5.5 x 5.5″ kraft card-base and adhered it down. Next, I stamped and white heat-embossed a sentiment from the Magical Christmas Sentiments stamp set, and cut it out with the coordinating die. I popped my sentiment up with foam tape and adhered it to the center of my card. Finally, I added some gold embellishments to finish it off!

We love seeing your creations and would love for you to join us in this month’s challenge! All you have to do to enter is use the challenge theme (colour palette) to create a project that features at least one Penguin Palace product as the focal point. Full challenge rules can be found here.

This month’s challenge runs until December 30th at 11:59 PDT. We’ll select a winner to receive a $25 CAD gift certificate to ppstamps.com from challenge #19 and #20 which will be announced on January 1st at the beginning of challenge #21!

Penguin Palace Challenge #19 – Sketch

Hello and welcome back crafty friends!

We LOVED seeing your fall moodboard inspired projects over the past month and want to thank you so much for participating in Challenge #18. Unfortunately, we didn’t have quite enough participants to declare a winner, but we really want to thank you so much for participating in Challenges #17 & 18!

Now, onto Penguin Palace Challenge #19! This month we have a another fun sketch that’s a little more holiday-inspired! Don’t forget to link your projects featuring Penguin Palace stamps below for your chance to win a $25 gift card!

I haven’t made any holiday cards yet this year, so I figured now was as good a time as any to get started. I created an ink-blended background with distress oxide inks (Speckled Egg, Prize Ribbon, Chipped Sapphire, Black Soot) and added some water and glitter droplets to add texture. Next, I repeatedly stamped and silver heat-embossed a few of the images from the Fun Doodle Dividers stamp set onto white cardstock and cut out 3 ornaments using different sized circle dies.

I popped my ornaments up on my card using fun foam and added glittery strings to “hang” them from the top of the card. I stamped the large block of sentiments from the Magical Christmas Sentiments stamp set on black cardstock using white pigment ink. I white heat-embossed them and cut them out with the coordinating die. I picked one out to use on my card and now have many left over for future cards! Lastly, I added some star embellishments to finish off the card.

We love seeing your creations and would love for you to join us in this month’s challenge! All you have to do to enter is use the challenge sketch to create a project that features at least one Penguin Palace product as the focal point. Full challenge rules can be found here.

This month’s challenge runs until November 29th at 11:59 PDT. We’ll select a winner to receive a $25 CAD gift certificate to ppstamps.com from challenge #19 and #20 which will be announced on January 1st at the beginning of challenge #21!

Penguin Palace Challenge #18 – Fall Moodboard

Hello and welcome back crafty friends!

We LOVED seeing your sketch-inspired projects over the past month and want to thank you so much for participating in Challenge #17!

Now, onto Penguin Palace Challenge #18! I’m so excited to be sharing inspiration using this month’s fall colour palette! Don’t forget to link your projects featuring Penguin Palace stamps below for your chance to win a $25 gift card!

I love this spooky fall color palette and wanted to make a Halloween-inspired card. I created the background by blending Distress Inks (Dried Marigold, Festive Berries, Seedless Preserves, Villainous Potion, Black Soot). Then, using one of the dies from the Mountain Landscape Scene Builder dies and stencil set, I cut a hill from black cardstock. I also cut the Hello There die from some shimmer cardstock.

Next, I stamped the mummy and tomb images from the Mysterious Egypt stamp and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I wanted the card to be Halloween-themed, so I Copic-colored them to look like someone dressed as a mummy coming out of a coffin. Finally, I adhered all the pieces down to my card and added some holographic stars!

We love seeing your creations and would love for you to join us in this month’s challenge! All you have to do to enter is use the challenge color palette to create a project that features at least one Penguin Palace product as the focal point. Full challenge rules can be found here.

This month’s challenge runs until October 30th at 11:59 PDT. We’ll select a winner to receive a $25 CAD gift certificate to ppstamps.com from challenge #17 and #18 which will be announced on November 1st at the beginning of challenge #19!

Penguin Palace Challenge #17 – Sketch

Hello and welcome back crafty friends!

We LOVED seeing your holiday-inspired and summer palette-themed projects over the last two challenges! Unfortunately we didn’t have quite enough participants to declare a winner, but we really want to thank you so much for participating in Challenges #15 & 16!

Now, onto Penguin Palace Challenge #17! I’m so excited to be sharing inspiration using this month’s sketch. Don’t forget to link your projects featuring Penguin Palace stamps below for your chance to win a $25 gift card!

It’s officially back to school season (I’ve actually been back in school since last week)! I love seeing all the stationary and back-to-school supplies in stores, and I know teacher thank you cards are always needed — so that’s what inspired today’s card.

I used one of the Cinematic Shadow Box dies to die-cut three stripes from heavyweight cardstock (I used the blue, green, and yellow from Prism Pack (Volume I)) . Next, I stamped several of the images from We Are Right For Each Other onto white cardstock and die-cut it into a rectangle. I colored the images using Copic markers and created a matte for my scene using a slightly bigger rectangle cut from red cardstock (I used Prism Pack (Volume II)). Finally, I adhered all of my elements to my card base following the sketch layout!

We love seeing your creations and would love for you to join us in this month’s challenge! All you have to do to enter is use the sketch to create a project that features at least one Penguin Palace product as the focal point. Full challenge rules can be found here.

This month’s challenge runs until September 29th at 11:59 PDT. We’ll select a winner to receive a $25 CAD gift certificate to ppstamps.com from challenge #17 and #18 which will be announced on November 1st at the beginning of challenge #19!
